I am 51 year old, experienced maths tutor, father of three school children, I have a BSc (Hons -1st class) degree in mathematics from the University of Portsmouth, I also have a Masters degree MSc Mathematics and Computational Science from the University of Manchester and overseas teaching qualification.
I have fifteen years experience in teaching maths in mainstream education (abroad and in the UK) and one to one tutoring in different places. I have been able to achieve quite a lot of A, A star and grade 9 with my previous students who are willing to be my referees on request by any prospective student or parent. My aim is to help students get the exam grades they require to progress their education or career.
Although I think it`s important to initially explain a concept to the student, I believe a proper level of understanding can only be achieved by guiding the tutee through plenty of worked examples, followed by setting homework problems for the tutee to attempt independently. Once the tutee is confident in their subject knowledge, then we will work on exam techniques and exam practice to enable the tutee to ace the exams and significantly improve their grades.
