Information about Kate
I have taught English/Literature to GCSE for over 35 years and my tutored students attain good examination results in both English Language and English Literature. I am able to work with students for all the exam boards. Every student I have tutored has improved their GCSE grade.
I work with GCSE aged students and adults. If I can help you, I am willing to try. Contact me via the messaging service on this site. We can see if I can meet your needs. I`m happy to chat and help you.
Availability: Normally, between 4pm to 7pm Monday to Friday.
First session is free but is a session to meet and assess and may not last a full hour.
This will be your opportunity to ensure that you/your child are comfortable and that your child feels able to communicate well.

Kate was an ideal tutor for our son for his English GCSE. She quickly assessed his needs and provided the perfect environment for him to develop his knowledge of the subject and to improve his approach to planning and structuring answers. Through the weeks Kate always put our son’s needs first, with the awareness of the pressures that schools and exams can put on people. Her caring nature supported him throughout and he looked forward to the weekly sessions. During the tutoring his motivation and interest in the subject built up in preparation for the exams, which can be attributed to the teaching and approach from Kate. Finally the working environment in her home was also excellent, it provided a quiet focused space for the lessons that helped our son. We couldn’t have been more satisfied that we were able to have Kate’s time that during this period and the positive impact she had for our son.

Kate is kind, friendly and engaging. She radiates enthusiasm and clearly enjoyed finding out which method of learning suited my child best. She is very good at drawing answers from him, in a positive way. He is now happy to have tutoring and I can see his confidence growing with every lesson.

Kate is a fantastic tutor, she is quick to understand where difficulties lie and has so much experience in explaining her subject clearly while being sympathetic and practical. I am very confident in her ability to help my child overcome issues when he finds the material challenging, they are doing very well so far and I am really satisfied with progress. Would recommend Kate to anyone, especially pupils with SEN.
