Information about Delilah
I was born in London, but raised and schooled in Iran, where my passion for Mathematics was first born. During my time in Tehran, I participated and succeeded in many national and international Mathematics competitions, including the International Mathematics Olympiad. I returned to the UK at the age of 16 and achieved 5 As at A-Level in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Persian and Further Mathematics.
I attended the University of Oxford, graduating with a BSc and a Masters in Mathematics. During my time at Oxford, I was the Treasurer of Oxford Development Abroad, a student-run charity that assists with small-scale development projects in the developing world. I was also one of the co-founders and subsequently the president of the St Hughs Mathematics Society a society that hosts informal lectures, tutorials, and social events with a goal to promoting Mathematics and providing a friendly environment for students of Mathematics.
I have spent the last 6 years working in the Financial Services Industry, as a product Specialist at FTSE 250 listed Man Group plc, and subsequently for the Global CIO Office at Allianz Global Investors. I am currently based in London, and working for the leading Infrastructure Investment House, AMP Capital.

Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I provide bespoke Mathematics tuition and educational guidance for secondary, GCSE and A-Level students, as well as coaching and consulting on university admissions.
I use a variety of proven techniques to encourage students to awaken their curiosity and desire to learn Maths, and to motivate them to reach beyond their grasp. These methods ensure that students first learn to enjoy Mathematics, and consequently start to see results and gain confidence in their abilities. I have very high expectations of my pupils, an attitude that the students very quickly master for themselves and learn to adapt in everything that follows.
In working together with my students I ensure they master their subject, and perform well in exams however, it is my firm belief that it is equally as necessary to be able to apply theory to the real world. My academic background combined with my professional experience has allowed me to develop an understanding of what is required not only for a student to achieve the best results in an exam, but to be able to put that knowledge to good use in the real world.
My process involves meeting with the family and students first to discuss requirements and expectations, and to understand each others styles. If the styles are compatible and both parties are happy to proceed, I then arrange a complimentary session with the student to assess his/her academic progress, strengths and weaknesses. Based on this, I then draw up a plan that will ensure the tutorials are best suited to each individual student.
