Information about Lia
I have extensive experience in study skills. Having gotten into Magdalen College, Oxford University to study a BA in French, I refined my study skills extensively throughout my preparation for entry. Now studying for a BSc in Psychology I am learning about motivation and study and revision tactics such as metacognition. I was always top of my class throughout my school years and I got the highest grade in my class in the International Baccalaureate (an alternative to A-Levels where you study 6 subjects and do extra-curricular activities). I have also been following blogs like Scott Young`s and reading books on effective study techniques for around 10 years now. I know how to teach a student to study for maximum understanding and retention, in order to ace exams.
Please contact me if you have any questions. I would be the right tutor for you if you are looking to increase your child`s study skills or their overall performance at school. I prefer students around 10-13 as that`s when they need to start learning study techniques but can also help with students or adults who are older.
Availability: I am available from July to beginning of October on afternoons, certain evenings and weekends. After that I will be studying at university so will have more limited slots but I have not received my timetable yet so don`t know my exact availability. Online tutoring only.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
