I am a full time professional tutor with 16 years experience and a law degree from the University of Exeter. I specialise in English and English Literature and, have a vast amount of experience teaching across all exam boards . As a passionate tutor and AP scholar, I have taught over 400 students in my 16 year career thus far. I am results focused and focus on intensive tutoring to get the results you want in a short amount of time and regularly help students get into top schools and universities such as Harrow, Eton, Westminster, Oxbridge, Harvard, LSE, Exeter etc. All of my students report dramatic improvement in grades and confidence.

Apart from my tutoring work- I am also currently an English and Literature specialist for an international school and a top IB educational consultancy. I also am a Business English instructor for HR departments of a few multinational companies.

My Approach:
I am a methodical yet personable tutor, who is kind, patient and inspiring. I provide a structured yet adaptive approach to tutoring, which aims to build the students confidence and develop key skills needed to reach learning objectives.

A part of my goal focused approach is to identify the specific challenges faced by a student, their strengths and weaknesses and, the goals they want to reach. I always take time to get to know the student, make them comfortable, figure out what they already know about the subject and then try to build from there.

Straight after the lesson- I give the tutee and their parents/guardians a full breakdown of my assessment and plan of action with time marked milestones that the student will reach-with the first milestone reached within 3 lessons. I feel this early " win" motivates the student and inspires them in their learning journey. I also like to collaborate with the parents/ guardians with my tuition plan. I consider it necessary to keep the parent or guardian completely in the loop at all times, and have often found that the parent can be invaluable as the ‘third partner’ in the tuition plan.

My lessons are engaging, fun and inspiring. By making the lessons dialogue based, and in turn interactive, I believe that this helps students improve their confidence, enabling them to better articulate their ideas whilst giving them the sure footedness needed to reach their academic potential.

My ultimate goal is to empower students to feel like they can achieve anything when they put their mind to it, instill key communication skills and improve their grades.

Experience: Over my 16 year career, I have taught over 400 students - ranging from primary school students, IB students, school staff and corporations. This extensive exposure enables me to assess and work with students of any academic level and background, regardless of starting point and/or objective.

For the academic year of 2021 and 2022 I taught 64 students of which 97% of my IB students achieved a 6 and above, 100 % of my GCSE students achieved a 9, and all of my students improved a minimum of 3 grades, no matter the course.

As a specialist English and Literature tutor, I am well versed in the various exam boards, their intricacies and how to best achieve their varying assessment objectives. I have my own teaching materials - collated from my years of teaching.

For 7+/11+/13+/16+, I have very wide ranging experience of preparing school applicants. I have successfully helped applicants and scholarship candidates to almost all of the top UK schools; boarding and day, single sex and co-educational. Examples include Eton, Harrow, Winchester, CLC, Wycombe Abbey, Westminster, St Paul`s, St Paul`s Girls etc.
