Information about Jack
History teacher. Having taught across three different schools and in two different countries, I am well equipped to tutor from KS3-5, having built a strong understanding of exams, essay expectations and mark schemes.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I teach History across three key stages, including Year 10 and Year 12. I create and plan engaging lessons that align with the departments mid term plans, focusing on developing students historical inquiry and critical thinking skills. I use formative assessment and performance data to monitor progress, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners, from those requiring SEN support to high-attaining students. In addition to planning and teaching, I regularly mark Key Stage 3 and 4 work, set and review homework, and prepare students for exams by providing tailored revision resources. I attend all department meetings, contribute to discussions on curriculum development, and participate in whole-school CPL/CPD, ensuring that I stay up to date with the latest teaching strategies. I have gained valuable experience working alongside the behavioural and SEN teams, shadowing staff to support students with additional needs and promoting positive behaviour for learning. I also assist the Head of Department during inspection visits, demonstrating my ability to contribute to wider school priorities. Outside the classroom, I engage with parents evenings, building strong home-school relationships, and take on the responsibility of monitoring attendance, as well as scheduling days to shadow SLT. This role has helped me develop as a reflective and adaptable practitioner, committed to raising achievement and ensuring all students receive the best possible education in History.

Feedback For Jack (-1)

Jack accepted my request to tutor face to face with my son. The day before the session was scheduled Jack contacted me to say that due to a change in circumstances he was no longer able to provide face to face tutoring. I was disappointed but do appreciate that circumstances change. After considering online tutoring I contacted Jack again to set up an initial first session. I received a message declining my request with no explanation given. Hence, I have now found a super tutor from a different website
