I would describe myself as calm, friendly and patient - this has proved valuable in creating an excellent working relationship with my tutees.
I do not follow a set routine of tutoring but try to adapt my style to the individual (embedding their interests in tasks, where possible).
I`m confident in my creative teaching approach and have a proven 100% track record of improvement in confidence and academic achievement.
I am also keen to set practice tasks in between taught sessions.

Having taught in both state and independent schools, I have a wealth of experience in preparing students for Entrance exams, including securing a number of scholarship places.

When I am not tutoring or busing renovating our house, I am currently Women`s Rowing Captain at Monmouth Rowing Club - where I train, motivate a ladies squad and compete regionally and internationally. I equally like to encourage other adults as develop and achieve their goals.

Availability: Currently midweek slots are available. I can tutor either in person or via Zoom.

English being my first specialist subject, I have taught at secondary level (state and independent).
Latterly I have been a primary school teacher (including English lead at a Prep school), focusing on English and maths -especially developing confidence in those pupils who struggle with these core subjects (state and independent).

I also have a background as a sports coach and currently support a women`s rowing squad..
