My name is Helena. I have a BEd Hons degree from Westminster College, Oxford and have been teaching now for 23 years. I have worked in a range of international, state and independent schools teaching across Key stage 2. The majority of my experience is at the top end of Key stage 2 in Years 5 and 6 (although I have taught and worked with students in year 3 and 4 too.) I have a wealth of knowledge of the curriculum requirements at these stages including how to effectively prepare students for end of year exams and SATs. I offer online daytime and after-school tutoring to students in Key Stage 2 in English (reading comprehension and fluency, grammar/ spelling help,writing support) and Maths (all topics in KS2) and primary Science.

I have also worked extensively and successfully with students who have different learning needs ( dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia and autism). I am skilled at adapting my strategies and teaching to support and help students succeed in their learning.

I am a recently qualified TEFL teacher and offer online lessons to those wanting help with English language.

Another area of my expertise is helping students to catch up with any lost learning. I take the time to assess the gaps in student learning and then work with them to address these gaps in meaningful, fun and interactive ways.

I am very good at building positive working relationships with my students and seeing them make progress, build confidence in themselves and their abilities. I believe learning should be enjoyable and fun and I try and make all my lessons interesting and memorable to help my students grow in their learning.

I plan and adapt my lessons carefully to make them personal, accessible, fun and relevant for every student I work with.

I offer online lessons and have good availability- daytime and evening.
