I am a full time secondary school science teacher in Oxfordshire.

I qualified as a teacher (PGCE) with the University of York in 1997, then started my career in the North East at a secondary school in Yorkshire. I moved South in 1999 and have been working in Oxfordshire secondary schools for 20 years. Throughout my career I have held additional positions of responsibility, such as Head of House and Head of Year. I live in Witney with my wife and 3 children.

I teach Combined Sciences to GCSE students across all abilities and share some A Level teaching responsibilities. Most of my tutor work is concentrated on GCSE and A Level Chemistry across all exam boards. I am happy to do tutoring sessions online or in person (once this is deemed safe regarding the Coronavirus pandemic).

I have a recent clear DBS check.

I have been a private tutor for 8 years now and am very happy to tailor tutoring to my tutees specific requests and needs. We go at a pace that the tutee is happy with to ensure they fully understand the topic. I am available via email in the periods between tutoring sessions and am happy for tutees to contact me with questions or requests.

Availability: Most weekday evenings, possibly Saturday mornings.

When in person tutoring restarts and if you would prefer this, I accept pupils from Witney and the surrounding villages (approx 5 miles)

Experience: Teaching of secondary science particularly AQA core and additional science, OCR Chemistry and also triple chemistry.

I have taught A level applied science for the past 5 years with an emphasis on chemistry. I have also taught A level Chemistry and tutored students for A level Chemistry.
