Information about Ciaran
I am currently in my 2nd year of mechanical engineering at Strathclyde, I achieved all As in my standard grades, INT2s, and Highers and AAB in 6th year including an A at advanced higher maths. Due to these qualifications I was offered the chance to skip 1st year maths at university and go straight into my second year. I am a very keen maths enthusiast and being young I get along well with children and help them feel relaxed and comfortable leading to better quality teaching.
I am enthusiastic and cheerful and have great patience trying to help people understand problems and helping build their confidence with mathematics. I believe maths is to be enjoyed and I get enjoyment from helping others learn how to answer questions correctly. Once students begin to know how to deal with questions they may be asked in exams they begin to become much more optimistic about their chances of success leading to a greater willingness to learn.
Availability: I have changing availability every week but I am very flexible for your needs
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: My mum is a chartered maths teacher and tutors herself, I have had great advice from her and she always explained problems in a very methodical way to me which has enabled me to do the same for others. Having a mum as a teacher also allows me the chance to get any extra notes I require for tuition that I feel may be of help for my students. At school I volunteered to help in 1st year maths classes with children who were struggling with maths and would sit down with them one to one and take them through different questions.
