Information about Arsh
I`m a hardworking, patient and diligent fourth-year medical student with experience in tutoring online since 2020. My focus is in supporting learners at KS3, GCSE, and A-level within maths and biology. My sessions are tailored to learners` individual needs and requirements, with a structured and organised approach so progress can be measured from session to session.
Availability: My availability varies weekly.
Monday to Friday - availability varies, please ask
Saturday and Sunday - available all day
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: My early tutoring experience includes working 1:1 with peers in my sixth form, providing scaffolding so they could access challenging topics successfully. Later, in the capacity of teaching assistant, during my gap year, I provided academic support to students preparing for GCSE exams within subjects including maths and sciences.
At university, I have taught as part of a peer mentoring scheme since my first year. More recently, I gained the AFHEA qualification, which is a professional recognition of effective teaching practice in higher education. This was attained through intensive teaching of a range of neuroanatomy topics to a group of medical students across several year groups. A significant part of achieving this qualification required familiarising myself with various pedagogical (teaching) theories and regularly reflecting on and making adjustments to my teaching practice, based on feedback from the students as well as peers and staff observing my sessions. This meant that, by the end of the teaching programme, my teaching style and understanding of the students` needs and learning styles had developed significantly.
