Information about Charlie
I`m a qualified maths teacher living in Chepstow. I can offer tutoring services for all levels including entrance exams, GCSEs and A-Levels.
Whether you are here because your child struggles with certain aspects of maths or whether you wish to stretch their mathematical thinking beyond the taught curriculum, I can offer personal and individualised plans in order to suit your needs.
I have a firm belief that mathematical understanding is one of the most important aspects of a child`s education. Without realising, we all use mathematics in our everyday lives. Whether this is simply utilising our numeracy skills when visiting a shop or for understanding speed when driving, it is incredibly important for every child to have a strong mathematical foundation.
Exams are becoming harder. The relatively recent change in the GCSEs and the high demand for places in independent schools has meant that many parents are faced with the dilemma of whether to engage in extra support for their child. For some, maths can be daunting whereas for others it is an exciting challenge. Regardless of a child`s predisposition towards the subject, my aim is to provide enjoyable sessions that will not just intrigue their interest in the subject, but also put them in a better position for any upcoming tests/ exams they may face.
The main advantage of hiring a tutor is that your child will receive completely individualised sessions. As a qualified maths teacher, I understand how to break down content so that it is understandable to the learner, I have access to a wide range of resources for all levels and needs, I am DBS checked, for your peace of mind and I have a wealth of experience already in supporting children.
No tutor can every promise that a child will pass or receive a particular grade in any upcoming exams, but what I can promise are enjoyable sessions, regular contact and updates with the parents and surety that your child will be in a much better position to face whatever mathematical challenges come their way.
