Information about Richard
I am a Senior Lecturer in Economics at a UK university and have been teaching for over ten years. I teach and research across a number of different fields in Economics, and have tutored for longer.
In between degrees I also trained as a Chartered Accountant at a Big Four professional services firm and have taught various forms of financial and management accounting and taxation since then.
I enjoy tutoring students as it provides a more in-depth relationship with a student and their learning. My philosophy is to empower the student to feel confident and more able to learn themselves.
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends. I can find time during most workdays and in general, am very flexible.
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have been teaching in UK universities for over eight years and tutoring for longer than this. I have won multiple awards for teaching at every institutions in which I have worked.

Whilst in my final year of studying BSc Economics I have had to submit various essays and research projects. Lessons with Richard have been extremely helpful in improving my abilities to write a good paper. Modules he has helped me in include International Trade and Economic History. He’s highly knowledgable in conducting research, writing literature reviews, procuring data etc. Richard is also a very approachable tutor and it’s been very easy to contact him about queries outside of lesson times too. I’ve found our lessons to be highly enjoyable and I’m much more confident about the work I submit. I look forward to working with him more in my upcoming submissions!

I would highly recommend Richard as an economics tutor. I`m currently studying A-level economics and Richard is very knowledgable and friendly to work with. These sessions have been a great help. I feel like I not only have a better grasp of the content I need for school, but also understand the bigger picture of economics more!
