I have been teaching for 15 years and tutoring privately for a number of years. I understand and have developed not only the skills required to tutor on a 1 to 1 basis but also the importance of having trusting relationships with both students and parents. I am also an A`level examiner and A`level Science practical monitor for schools therefore possess a wide range of skills. This has provided me with a thorough insight into how to support students struggling to achieve higher grades. I have worked closely with several students who have successfully achieved the grades required to study science related courses at university such as medicine.
I am familiar with the different assessment criteria for the exam boards OCR, AQA and Edexcel.
I have a flexible approach to teaching and quickly recognise strengths and weaknesses of individual students. I have a successful reputation for raising standards in Science departments and raising the attainment of students. I believe every student can exceed expected targets with the correct support and guidance. Having access to a wide range of resources means tutorial sessions will be fully resourced electronically. I am experienced in delivering and assessing at GCSE Science and AS/A2 Biology. All the students I tutor develop confidence with their knowledge and learn how to apply their knowledge effectively in order to gain better grades.
