I love teaching and I love learning! I believe that everybody learns differently. My strength is in finding the way for you to enjoy the thrill of learning in a way that is real and meaningful for you as an individual.

I bring a creative and supportive dynamic to the classroom. I have a good understanding of how to use engaging activities to build knowledge, build confidence and have fun learning.

Honesty, kindness, respect and care are the key qualities for my communication and relationships in teaching others.

I am here on Tutorhunt because I believe that my creative arts background, knowledge of language development and insight into communication and behaviours is a great resource, and I look forward to working with you in the classroom!

Availability: I am able to book classes with you:
Monday to Friday: 4.30pm to 9.00pm
Saturday: 10.00am to 6.00pm
Sunday: 10.00 to 2.00pm

Experience: I have been a teacher for the past 27 years.

I was a teacher of Art and Design for six years, spending time as Head of Department for four of those years. I tutored students through to GCSE level and ran an excellent department with a great record for placing students through to further education in art and design college.

I have recently completed a short term contract as a teacher of STEM, English and Art at Route 39 Academy, where learning was project based, encouraging students at Key Stage 3 and GCSE to problem solve and learn by doing, engaging in projects that have a real life application.

I am currently a teacher and the Director of Curriculum for a private company, delivering social-emotional education and training to schools worldwide. My work here focuses on behaviour and communication, empowering the individual to build confidence, focus and accomplishment. I have worked with students from Reception through high school, to sixth form, university and with teachers and adults in the community. I know that developing a confident sense of self is the best foundation for all educational achievement and my experience working in this area is a unique strength in my approach to teaching.

I have extensive experience teaching English as an Additional Language for those where English is not their first language.

I was Director of Studies/Head of School and a classroom teacher of English for an International English Language School for five years. I have taught English in multiple summer schools in the UK. I have a broad span of experience, teaching students from primary age to adults on a one to one basis and within a classroom setting, from complete beginner to advanced level English.

I was a teacher and Project Manager for High Schools in the Northwest of England for five years, focusing on English language development across all curriculum subjects to GCSE level.
