Shane

My name is Shane and I have been married to Jacquie for 25 years. We are both teachers and passionate about children and their learning. We believe that every child is unique and that every child should follow their dreams to reach their potential.

We tutor children aged 5 to 14 years old (Key Stages 1-3) and we can also support older learners and adults to develop their basic literacy and numeracy skills. We share the qualities of integrity, reliability, kindness, patience and enthusiasm for learning. We are able to meet all needs so that the learners in our care move on quickly to achieve great success.

Availability: We both hold current DBS certificates and are available during the week and on Saturday mornings. We would love to hear from you if you are looking for an excellent local tutor.

Experience: I qualified as a teacher in 1989. I have an MA in Education and my specialist areas are Maths and English. I have been a full-time teacher and head teacher in West Sussex schools until 2018 when I retired to start as a tutor.

Jacquie qualified as a teacher in 1996 with a B.Ed Hons Degree in English Literature. She has been teaching for more than 20 years in local primary schools in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She has experience of teaching a wide range of children, including those with physical disabilities.

We have taught many children on a 1:1 basis, either to support those who find learning a challenge or to enrich and stretch the higher achievers.
