Information about Philip

Enthusiastic French, Music & Maths Tutor

I am an enthusiastic, warm and empathetic person - who - in spite of my autism - is surprisingly adaptable and can offer a unique, flexible and personal teaching style tailored to each child`s learning patterns and personality. I am proficient in a number of disciplines, including French, maths, pure maths, and music. I am very young at heart - an asset which enables me to remain highly approachable and easier for my students to relate and identify with. Students on the spectrum will greatly benefit from this and I can work with them on any challenges they may be facing - academically and socially - relating their own situation with my personal experience in those areas. I offer a truly energetic, individualistic and dynamic teaching style, attributes that can inspire the most timid or unmotivated child and guide them on the path to self-belief and success. My work as an organist takes me all over the country and brings me into contact with a wide range of personalities - spirited, shy, under-confident, eccentric; this rich tapestry of people makes for an interesting and diverse experience! Music is my passion, my life, but I also enjoy travelling, discovering different languages and cultures, architecture, cooking, cycling, and railway stations! Always looking for opportunities to expand my skillset and learn something new each day!

Availability: Weekdays.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: No formal experience but I am involved in active work with The National Autistic Society; I have an easy, approachable manner, with a broad knowledge base and a natural rapport with most!
