Information about David
I am a fun and engaging woodwind teacher!
I have been teaching in London for around 6 years now and believe it is my duty as an oboist to inspire the next generation of woodwind players, especially oboists! I am happy to teach any woodwind but as an oboist and unfortunately it being a rare instrument, it is all the more important to me to encourage young people to take up my beloved instrument and keep producing the highest standard possible.
I have just moved to the Camden area and Im really keen to gain some students within easy travelling distance of here!
I can teach oboe to any standard from complete beginner to grade 8 and beginner standard in any other winds and piano.
Please get in touch if you have any questions!
Availability: Flexible availability
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I currently work as a woodwind coach at the Nucleo Project in North Kensington where I take three sessions a week of kids between the age of 7-14 on all woodwind instruments of mixed abilities in groups of around 6-10 per session. This is hugely rewarding work but I would also love to have more 1:1 students where we can really work on a more personal and detailed level!
Throughout my time at the Royal College of Music I have always had an active interest in teaching, having had private pupils while studying as well as taking a specialist teaching module as part of my course. As part of this I had the opportunity to study in great detail the best teaching techniques, not only for 1:1 tuition but also for group and mixed instrument class tuition and gain practical experience by visiting local schools to take outreach workshops and group oboe lessons.
