Following a career in IT development and support in Investment Banking I sought a new challenge in a career switch to teaching Mathematics. After completing my PGCE at Kingston University I have taught from Year 7 to Year 13, as well as taking a full part in school life as a tutor and with extra-curricular activities. After teaching for 3 years in a successful large comprehensive school, I moved to teaching A-Level Maths and Further Maths only first at Surrey University International Student Centre and then at Reigate Sixth Form College. I have just retired from 6th form teaching having been course leader for Further Maths for the last few years. I have marked for exam boards for the last 12 years or so, both on Maths and on Further Maths A-Level papers.

I have tuition times available at the end of the school/college day, and some times during the day (for A level students with free periods) and during school/college holidays. I am happy to arrange a regular time, or provide short-term tuition (e.g. before an exam).

The rates I quote are for tutoring at my home. For tutoring at your home I will also charge for my time spent travelling.

Cancellation: If you give at least 24 hours notice I will attempt to rearrange the lesson at a mutually convenient time. If less than 24 hours notice is given the cancelled lesson must be paid for.

Experience: Secondary Maths PGCE
10 years experience teaching maths in Secondary Schools (including AS and A2 Maths and Further Maths) and 6th Form College.
2 years teaching on the Foundation Year Programme at University of Surrey International Student Centre (A Level Maths/Further Maths)
9 years as an Examiner and Team Leader on A Level Pure, Core Pure and Further Mechanics for Edexcel and before that 3 years as Examiner for both Edexcel and AQA boards on various Pure Maths Modules on the old syllabus (C2, C3, C4 and International A Level)
