Information about Andy
I am a chemistry graduate who after 12 years in the chemical industry moved in to teaching in 2001. I am passionate about my subject and seeing students master this difficult subject motivate me today as much today as when I first started teaching. I have for the last nine years been Head of Science at a secondary school in Gloucestershire. The bulk of my teaching currently is at KS4 and 5.
Availability: Most evenings and weekends. Good availability on school holidays.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been teaching A level chemistry for the last 15 years both OCR A and B. I currently teach AQA GCSE physics and chemistry as well as OCR A A level chemistry to both Y12 and 13. During this year I have been delivering lessons remotely using MS Teams to Y10-13.

Andy really helped my son with his chemistry A level revision before he started having face-to-face tutoring locally. My son found his lessons helpful and enjoyable and in particular and appreciated his patience and the clarity with which he explained things. Andy was very prompt and professional in his communications with us and made sure he knew what my son wanted to focus on a couple of days before each lesson so he could prepare questions in advance. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending him as a chemistry tutor.
