Information about Luke
A tutors job doesn`t end with teaching students to pass exams. It is essential to inspire a love for the subject in the student. If they enjoy the subject, they will persist with it, and succeed.
I am a determined, friendly tutor with a broad knowledge of education and a particular passion for the English language, literature, drama and philosophy.
Since I received my bachelors degree from the University of Kent, I have worked as a professional tutor. I have just gained my Masters from the University of London, and now run a full-time tutoring business.
I have six years of experience tutoring children of a range of abilities. I believe in developing a calm, friendly and respectful relationship with my students, which allows them to enjoy my lessons and feel more at ease than perhaps they do at school.
I am also a professional writer, and have had short stories and essays published. I founded my own arts and culture magazine, which I edit and write for. I act in theatre plays and short films in my spare time; or play sports and read books.
I`d be happy to hear from anyone for English or Philosophy (Degree level and below). More feedback or references from current students readily available on request.
Good luck!
Luke

Experience: I have tutored English and Philosophy at all levels for six years. I have guided students struggling at GCSE for low 5s to high 7s, and students who have previously failed their exams two years running to passes. I have a particularly good track record working with more stubborn students who dislike English, and helping them feel more comfortable with the subject.
