Hi, thanks for reading my profile.
I studied a BSc in Geophysics at the University of East Anglia, always knowing that I would go into teaching science. I completed my PGCE and became a qualified teacher shortly afterwards.
I spent the first part of my teaching career in a large state school, teaching years 7-13. My wife, our golden retriever and I were planning to relocate to the North East of England but the pandemic hit so our plans were on hold while we transitioned to fully online teaching. Once the world returned somewhat to normal, we moved close to Durham and I took a job teaching years 10-13 in a independent boarding school, teaching a large range of international students, many on academic scholarships. I stayed there for a few years before accepting my current position as lead practitioner of science in a moderately sized state school.

Availability: Incredibly flexible - day times, evenings and weekends.

Experience: -Fully qualified classroom teacher.
-Enhanced DBS check.
-Have taught and tutored fully online/hybrid for several years.
-Have been an examiner for Edexcel and currently AQA.
-Supported students successfully through the ESAT process.
-Can prepare students for University study in Physics/Engineering if required
-Wealth of experience beyond the classroom with applied Physics processes and career applications.
