Garance

I am French, very patient, and understanding. I have been teaching foreign languages for over 14 years with very good results.
I was born in France in Montpelier and then moved to Dordogne where I did most of my schooling except for the last year of secondary that I did in Bordeaux and 2 years of university in Paris.

"In my final year of A-levels, Garance tutored me for several months in preparation for my French speaking A-level exams. I retook the speaking exam from year 12 and was also taking the year 13 speaking exam. I honestly cannot recommend Garance highly enough, she worked so hard to help me and it massively paid off. For the year 13 exam, each student had to choose a social issue to debate I chose a particularly difficult topic being the use of stem cells in research. Knowing little of the subject, Garance went to a lot of effort to learn it in full detail to be able to practice debates with me, she found material for me to use for revision, and helped me perfect my argument. My French speaking, originally being my poorest area of the language became the best area and simultaneously my listening skills improved. My accent greatly improved, I stopped hesitating, and I spoke with correct grammar which I still understand now for writing. When it came to the actual exams, I got A grades in both the resit (whereas the year before I received a D grade) and the year 13 exam. I preferred my sessions with Garance than my lessons at college, and she motivated me so much that I now study French and Italian at the University of Manchester, something I would never have been able to achieve without her help."
