I am an experienced secondary Science teacher specialising in Biology, with a strong understanding of the GCSE, iGCSE and A-Level curriculum. Alongside classroom teaching, I provide one-to-one tuition tailored to each student`s individual needs, whether they are looking to build confidence, strengthen their understanding of challenging topics or maximise their performance in examinations.
My approach is friendly, patient and encouraging, while maintaining high expectations. I believe that Science becomes much more manageable when complex ideas are broken down clearly and students understand not only the content, but how to apply their knowledge to exam questions.
I place particular emphasis on exam technique, identifying gaps in knowledge and addressing misconceptions. I use targeted questioning and exam-style practice to help students understand where marks are gained and how to approach unfamiliar questions with greater confidence.
As a current classroom teacher, I have an up to date understanding of curriculum requirements, examination specifications and the common difficulties students encounter. I adapt each lesson to the individual student rather than using a one size fits all approach, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
My goal is for students to leave tuition feeling more confident, capable and independent in their Science studies.
