I graduated top of my undergraduate class with a first in English Literature and I have also completed an MA in Early Modern History (result pending). I have experience teaching English and history to children and teenagers from age 10 to 18, with a proven record of improving both grades and confidence in my students. I believe that learning ought to be a life-long process and that even within the curriculum there is excitement to be found. My teaching focuses on working towards exams and qualifications as well as building and improving skills and self-belief.

My students usually exceed their expected grade in exams and don`t seem to find our sessions too much of a chore!

I have availability some evenings and weekends.

Availability: I usually offer one hour slots, but there is scope for extending this to a longer session

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have worked with children from aged ten through to GCSE and A level, and I am very familiar with the relevant syllabi (Edexcel, AQA etc). I am also very familiar with the various philosophies associated with home education, having been home educated myself and assisted home educated children, and am able to work well both with children accustomed to a formal educational setting and those whose experience has been rather different. I use a variety of techniques and ideas to engage and encourage students, and I have a consistent track record of improving both grades and confidence in my students.
