I am a fully qualified English teacher with over ten years’ experience teaching students aged 11–19, as well as being a GCSE English examiner for a leading UK exam board. This dual role gives me a clear understanding of how students are assessed and how to meet exam criteria effectively. I specialise in building confidence in reading, writing and exam technique, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. Alongside classroom teaching, I have held leadership roles within a large English department and have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE examinations. I am also an experienced online educator and enjoy supporting students in a flexible, supportive virtual learning environment.

Availability: I offer online tutoring only. I am available for sessions on most evenings and weekends, and am open to both flexible scheduling and regular weekly lessons to suit individual students.

Experience: I have taught English at secondary level since 2016, working with a wide range of abilities from Key Stage 3 through to A Level. My experience includes curriculum planning, exam preparation and targeted intervention for students requiring additional support. I have also trained and mentored trainee and early-career teachers, demonstrating strong subject knowledge and effective teaching practice.

In addition to my school-based teaching, I am a GCSE English examiner which gives me detailed insight into mark schemes, assessment objectives and how students can maximise marks in exams. Earlier in my career, I worked as a literacy teaching assistant, supporting SEND and EAL students through small-group and one-to-one interventions.

During this academic year, I have also worked for an online school, delivering English lessons remotely and supporting students in a fully virtual learning environment. This has strengthened my ability to engage learners online and adapt resources for digital delivery.
