Information about Laura
I am an experienced primary school teacher who has taught in both KS1 & KS2 with several years experience of year 6. I have a background in dyslexia and was the English Lead in my last school for 9 years. During that time I also moderated for the Borough in both the KS1 & KS2 SATs.
I currently work part-time with the University Of Greenwich as a School Experience Tutor, supporting trainee teachers and their mentors during their School Placements.
English is my passion and I have been tutoring children from as young as 5 to master the skills of phonics, reading, writing and maths, with excellent results. I also tutor for the 11+ and private school entrance exams.
I have a good rapport with children, probably because I have a calm, gentle manner which children respond well too

Our daughter has been coming to see Laura for the last 5 months and we have seen her grow in confidence. Her reading as well as her maths skills have improved. Laura has always been very approachable and easy to work with and talk to. She has listened well and responded to our daughter’s needs, addressing the areas where she needed help. She helps our daughter with the weekly homework and gives her practical and easy solutions and skills to use at school. Our daughter finds her lessons pleasant and is always looking forward to the weekly tutoring.

I highly recommend Laura, she is extremely polite and professional. We have been using Laura since September on a weekly basis to help our 7 year old with both Math and English. We have noticed a massive improvement in not only our daughters learning but her confidence and attitude towards learning. Our daughter whilst not normally shy has never been one to put her hand up in class, since working with Laura she has done this and talked the class through solving some math problems. The school have commented on our daughters improvement this term and are especially impressed with how she is doing in Math an area she was previously struggling in.
