I studied English at the University of Exeter, graduating with a 2:1 honours degree. Prior to that, I studied English, History and Sociology to A level, achieving 3 A grades in 2008. I`m married and have a little boy, who I love reading with.

Availability: I am available between 7 & 9 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but could be more flexible on a Saturday. I am happy to meet students in a local coffee shop to run a session, to host them at our home or to run a tutoring session online via Skype or FaceTime.

Experience: After graduating from university, I came to Birmingham and spent two years training to teach through the competitive graduate scheme, `Teach First`. Since then, I have taught in two outstanding schools, and held a teaching and learning responsibility for A level English studies, which meant overseeing the courses that the school ran, as well as being accountable for the progress of the students. I have taught GCSE English courses for 5 years and have undergone training on the new specifications, which were brought in two years ago. Alongside this, I have lots of experience teaching key stage 3 students. My speciality at A level is English Literature, but am able to teach both English literature and language up to GCSE.
