Information about Melanie
As a former Head of Department for Economics and Business Studies, and examining team leader for Business Studies GCSE and A-level Economics, I have a wealth of experience teaching GCSE and A-level Economics and Business Studies. I am a trained educational coach. I am in a unique position that I have set up a coaching company so not only do I have experience of teaching but I also have experience of setting up an actual business which allows me to easily help students contextualise and apply their learning; which is a requirement by all exam boards. I have a 2:1 Economics Degree.
Availability: I am available in the daytime and evening Monday to Friday.

Experience: Former Head of Department and with 19 years of teaching experience, teaching GCSE Business Studies and GCSE Economics, A-level Economics and Business Studies. I was a Head of Department for Economics and Business Studies at a comprehensive school in Derbyshire. I am a Certified Mentor and Coach, and I was trained to coach teachers so they could enhance their performance in the classroom. I completed the Leadership Pathway Programme designed for Senior Leaders. I led a team of examiners for Edexcel GCSE Busines Studies and I have been an examiner for A-level Economics. I have Leadership and Management experience in Education. I have led my Department through a successful subject OFSTED with a Chief Inspector. I have a range of experience which enables me to adapt my teaching approach to suit different abilities and learning styles.
