I am a qualified Teacher of Science moving in to my 12th year of secondary teaching. My specialism is Physics having achieved a degree in Physics with Space Science and Technology. I have taught all Stages and I am an OCR examiner for A-Level Physics.
I previously held the role Head of Year 11 which equipped me well with working with students going through that crucial final GCSE year. I understand and empathise with the extra pressures they feel. I am a great motivator and can coach young people to think differently about their mindset and offer known strategies for success.
Currently occupying the role of Head of Science and KS5 Physics Curriculum Lead, I understand what teaching techniques and intervention strategies are the most effective. I can show students how topics link together in a way they can see the overall learning journey they travel. Coupled with my experience as an examiner, I am able to educate effectively on proper exam technique.
I am a huge advocate for lifelong learning and enjoy keeping up-to-date with education research to improve my teaching practice so that I am more equipped to help my students.
