Information about Debbie
I have a first class Masters degree in civil engineering from the university of Exeter and am currently working towards a PhD from the same university. I teach Mathematics at undergraduate level at the university, but truly believe that GCSE Maths and Physics have the most beautiful syllabuses and consider them a pleasure to teach.
My teaching approach is to start small. Build confidence and genuine understanding on simple questions, then gradually add complexity. Multiple studies have shown that believing the phrase `I can`t do Maths` is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Providing a student with belief in their own mathematical ability will not only help them to pass the next exam, but provide a life-long healthy relationship with numbers.
