Information about Emma
Emma is a qualified teacher with four years` experience teaching teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level English in schools in Bristol and London, most recently at Notting Hill and Ealing High School, GDST. During this time she marked the 11 plus paper in English. She was also an examiner for the AQA A Level Literature exam 2017/18 and 2018/19. Her experience is of helping a wide range of learners, challenging the top-end but also supporting those who need help with fundamental skills. She has a PGCE from Bristol university.
Before her undergraduate degree from Cambridge (English, first class), she attended City of London School for Girls, Emma achieved straight A*s in her GCSEs and A Levels (English Literature, Art, Mathematics, and Physics).
Emma also has an MA in Medieval English from KCL and a PhD in Medieval Studies (History and English) at the University of York. Additionally, she has five years` experience teaching undergraduate and masters students at the University of York and Lancaster University.

Experience: Emma`s tutoring experience includes KS3, City of London entrance exams, Oxbridge applications including the Oxford ELAT, Cambridge IGCSE English and OCR A Level English Literature coursework and exam preparation. She has also taught the AQA English Language A Level syllabus. She has also tutored undergraduates in History with essay writing skills.
Emma is a tutor who insists on high standards from her students. She focuses on giving detailed feedback on students work, and setting tasks to improve the work, leading students to achieve more. Being friendly and efficient, Emma ensures that students get the most out of their time with her, and leave feeling more confident.

Emma is terrific. She has really helped my very academic son elevate his analysis of English texts to next level. She is very well prepared ahead of her sessions and extremely patient and calm and get`s the best out of my son. Would really recommend her.
