Hello!

I work in an Ofsted rated `Outstanding` school in Reading in year 5. I am experienced in both teaching and tutoring. I enjoy tutoring children who are interactive and keen to learn which makes for a better session. I always try to find out more about the student as the sessions progress, as I think it`s important that the child feels comfortable working alongside me. This way, I find the children are more open and honest when they don`t understand something.

I appreciate some background knowledge on the child beforehand about their strengths and weaknesses and any the areas the parent/guardian wants to discuss is fine.

I haven`t had experience of teaching children for the 11+ exams, because I work in a main stream school, I don`t know much about them, however, I have tutored children to `plug the gaps of weakness` ready for the 11+ and worked on quick recall etc.

I`m a friendly and effective tutor ready to start whenever you`d like!

Availability: I am free most days after school. I can work around your times as I understand some children can take part in a lot of after school activities.

Willing to travel: 8 miles

Experience: I have worked in my current school for 5 years and moved within the juniors. I have experience of tutoring both infants and juniors but mainly juniors. I also have experience of tutoring and teaching children with special needs and can adapt with strategies for the child.
