Information about Gayle
I graduated from Leeds University in 1997 and after completing my PGCE a year later I began working as a secondary teacher of French and German. During my time in high schools, I have taught French from Key Stage 3 to A Level and German to Key Stage 3 students. In 2008, I began tutoring in the evenings as it fit in better with family life. I have spent time working in primary schools as both a Class teacher and a Language teacher. Over the last 6 years, I have worked on a supply basis for the local council in my area as well as continuing my private tuition in the evenings.
I also have experience of teaching Languages to primary school aged children and adult learners. I am familiar with both GCSE and A Level exam boards and have had excellent results from the students I have taught. I have an excellent subject knowledge and I strive to get the best out of my students, whether it is to achieve a good exam result or to learn conversational French. I love teaching and I am passionate about my subject and Language learning in general. I would be more than happy to read through any written work outside of lesson times at no additional cost to students.
I have taught both the AQA and OCR GCSE and A level syllabuses and I am familiar with the A level text No et Moi and the film La Haine. While Id be happy to help structure essay questions, my expertise is in grammar and language.
I would adapt my teaching to suit each student as every one is different. For example, I believe that younger children would respond better to games in their language learning. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more advice or information. I can tailor make lessons to suit your individual situation.
I do not overcharge and have not put my prices up in several years. I would far rather my students felt that they were getting value for money
Availability: I am available to work Monday to Thursday after 3pm and in the evening. I will work at weekends, particularly as the GCSE and A-Level season approaches.
I prefer to teach from home but I am happy to travel a short distance to a students house. I can also teach A Level and GCSE via an online lesson.
At this time of year I can work with students to prepare a revision programme which compliments any work at school for either GCSE or A-Level.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: As above, including:
I have recently tutored several A-Level students to prepare them for their exams in the summer and two GCSE students. I am also running language lessons for primary school aged children.
DBS Check: Yes

Gayle is a fantastic teacher ! She has adapted her teaching to me as I have dyslexia. My French has improved so quickly after a year of struggling with learning the basics with another teacher. She has helped me gaining confidence and realize that I was capable. Would recommend 100% !

Gayle is an outstanding tutor. She is both professional and caring , and always arrives on time with a smile, and great enthusiasm for the subject. She has helped my daughter gain confidence and enjoy French A level, something I never would have believed possible. I would highly recommend Gayle as a French tutor, and cannot thank her enough for all she has done for us.
