Information about Chloe

I am a fully qualified Primary school teacher originally from Yorkshire and am happy to have recently returned, previously to returning I lived and worked in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Wiltshire, Hampshire and London for 10 years.

My Partner in in the Army and spends a lot of time away, so when he is back we like to do some travelling and exploring of new places together. I am a real book worm and can go through up to a book a week! I also thoroughly enjoy movies and try to get to the cinema as often as possible. I would say I am quite creative and I love to bake and paint.

I thoroughly enjoy working with children in a number of different settings. For example I was a volunteer and trustee for a children`s charity for the past 6 years, this involves taking disadvantaged children from Liverpool on a residential holiday for part of the summer. I have also worked on a few occasions as a live in nanny, my last position was in Tuscany, Italy in 2010.

I have experience in private tutoring children from Year 1 to Year 6, including SATs and entry level exams preparation.

Availability: I am currently not taking any students online or face to face.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I am a fully qualified Dramatherapist currently working inthe NHS with young adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties. I made the move away from class teaching, as I found myself being drawn towards being able to support children in their emotional and social development and also to extend my work to adults.

I have been teaching for 10 years. I have worked in both special and mainstream schools across both key stages. I have worked with first and second year BA: Performance students focusing on specific modules and practical performances. I have worked as a general class teacher, 1:1, special needs intervention and booster teacher across schools throughout the country.

I have recently left a school in Wiltshire where I was employed as a 1:1 interventions teacher. I worked with children across the school, with varying needs to fill gaps and to ensure readiness for SATs, moving up a year group or merely catching up with their peers.

As I previously said I am quite creative. I like to take this approach when I am tutoring. I am very aware that there are many different ways of learning and that it is important to find the correct one to suit each individual. If something doesn`t work, we just find an alternative route. I find communicating with younger children very easy and seem to be able to form relationships fairly quickly. I thoroughly enjoy watching the progress being made as a child develops educationally and socially.

I start with a new tutee with a fairly comprehensive assessment to ensure I fully understand the needs of the child. Every child is very different and I find an individualised plan for each tutee is helpful and necessary to really focus on any gaps or lack of confidence in certain areas. I endeavor to make my tutoring sessions as fun as possible for the child and use lots of creative and interactive activities to keep them engaged.

I am able to offer a range of references from my clients and their familiies.

5/5 Rating

Following a school move it came to light that our year 6 son had a number of gaps which we wanted to rectify before SATs and the move the secondary school. Chloe did a great job of assessing the deficiencies, working up a strategy and delivering some really first class tuition which addressed all of the issues. Not only that, she was flexible, and was really patient with our son who wasn`t always the most enthusiastic of students! Passes in all SATs were attained and more importantly, we are confident that our son has the necessary baseline moving forward into secondary education. Thank You Chloe!
