I am a highly experienced teacher and former head of department, having worked in a variety of secondary schools for over 20 years and, more recently, Further Education for 4 years.

Last year I became an examiner for GCSE English Language and I can support you in your efforts to achieve a target grade.

I enjoy helping students who have lost confidence, for whatever reason, assisting them to flourish as independent learners. I can also assist if you are retaking exams.

I am registered with the online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

I have taught English, Religious Studies, Critical Thinking and History with additional expertise in teaching EFL adult learners. I have extensive experience of a variety of support needs.

20th Century history and politics

Literary theory
Close reading and analysis of a variety of set texts as well as wider reading, within a socio-historical context.
