My aim is to ensure that I offer my students personalised tutoring that caters for all their needs. This includes examination preparation and practice for topics already covered in school or college or tuition in the subject from first principles assuming little or no prior knowledge. This includes mature students who may have a requirement to brush up on the subjects for professional development or simply have a burning desire to broaden their academic achievements and learn something new.

As a facilitator of learning, my principal objective is to provide students with the knowledge and tools to solve problems and then to encourage students to solve them on their own, providing support and guidance where needed. By explaining difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner, my students become more confident in the subject and their abilities.

I am a firm believer that confidence is the key to examination success and, through repeated practice in specific focus areas, I can instill that confidence. Relating the style and nature of examination questions to the knowledge and understanding gained in the classroom is a key facet of my tutoring style.

Availability: Available throughout the week and at weekends from early morning through to early evening. Depending on circumstances and preferences, lessons can be held at the student’s home or remotely online using various video and tutoring services.

Experience: I have a Masters Degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and have taught several science and numerate-based subjects at both GCSE and A Level on a one-to-one basis for more than five years whilst pursuing my career as a consultant engineer.

I am now in the fortunate position of being able to devote more time to my real passion for tutoring Physics and Maths. I pride myself on my thorough preparation and my patient, friendly, inclusive approach to teaching and nothing gives me greater satisfaction than seeing students of all ages enjoying the subjects I teach and achieving their full potential.
