Head of Department at high performing south west London Grammar school with 15 years` experience teaching A Level philosophy, theology, critical thinking, BMAT tutoring, etc. to Oxbridge standards. Currently completing a scholarship at Oxford University in philosophy and theology.

I teach the history of philosophy from the "Presocratics to Postmoderns" and have specialisms in the reception of scepticism in antiquity and the modern period and the premodern and postmodern reception of Aristotle.My personal interests include the medieval and modern reception of Platonism, and the work of Aquinas, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, MacIntyre, Putnam and Radical Orthodoxy.

Have delivered papers at postgraduate philosophy seminars and lectured/led teacher training seminars and tutorials.

Past member of local government curriculum reform groups.

Member of learned societies and postgraduate research/discussion groups.

Undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in philosophy, theology, psychology and sociology.

Have also taught Ancient History and Psychology to A Level standards.

Availability: Selected evenings, perhaps weekends. I live near Purley but work in South West London, via Clapham Junction.

Experience: Five years tutoring students at all ability ranges but with particular focus on Oxbridge preparation. Am currently providing BMAT and Oxbridge entrance exam tutorials.
