Information about Matthew
I am an outstanding Spanish teacher who is extremely passionate and highly skilled in teaching modern foreign languages. Through my classes I aim to inspire and support you to improve your Spanish language skills in order to provide a solid foundation for learning Spanish and achieving success in GCSE, A-level and university examinations. I am a fully qualified UK secondary school Spanish teacher with more than 15 years experience of preparing students for success in AQA GCSE andA-level (AS and A2) examinations.
I have lived, worked (as an ESOL teacher) and travelled in Spain for more than 5 years and spent a further 7 months backpacking through Spanish-speaking Latin America. I have first hand experience of learning Spanish in Hispanic countries, which I can draw on to enhance your linguistic and cultural knowledge and understanding (crucial at A-level) of both formal and informal Spanish.
My students have regularly achieved A/A* grades at AS and A-level and grades 7-9 at GCSE level. I have taught many students who have gone on to study Spanish at University, including two students in the last 3 yeats who went to Oxford University to read Spanish. Last year I tutored a student for two months who was predicted a grade 5 and achieved a grade 8 through two one hour lessons per week.
