COVID-19 Update: Please note that all face to face tuition is currently suspended, however I am more than happy to offer tuition via Zoom, Google Meet or Skype. I have recently gained experience working online as a teacher at a leading Kent independent school, and have adapted many key resources for use online.
I have been in the teaching profession for over 36 years and have extensive experience and knowledge of successfully preparing students for public examinations in the Sciences, in particular Chemistry. I have recently retired as Head of Chemistry in a successful Kent Grammar school, which has allowed me to focus on private tutoring. I have over 30 years experience of examining for the major exam boards, giving me a detailed knowledge of the requirements of the GCSE and A-Level syllabi. I have many and varied resources from books, notes and worksheets, to past papers and their markschemes, which I use to consolidate learning.

I have for many years have demonstrated my ability to enthuse and educate students to achieve their very best. I enjoy being able to go deeper into a subject in order to pass on understanding rather than focusing on rote learning, but equally I understand the importance of well developed exam technique in order to achieve ones very best.

I have been tutoring privately for about 20 years in Chemistry A-Level, GCSE Sciences and Maths, and have also coached for 11-plus. While I prefer to work from home as I have resources to hand, I am prepared to travel locally to my tutees homes, by arrangement.
