Information about Emma

Experienced and Qualified Accent and Business English coach (MA, MEng, CELTA)

Hello there! Does speaking English make you nervous because of your accent? Do you want to be more confident in meetings and presentations?

My name is Emma and I am a professional Accent and Business English coach.

To help you sound like a native English speaker I will use my experience training executives and actors to find fun ways to help you understand what you already do when you speak and what you can do! Then you can practice and I will support you with exercises, texts, audio media, videos.. Every week we will do recordings and I will help you hear what the native English speakers hear.

I have learnt my coaching skills over years of practice, my Master’s in Training Actors in Voice and Accent from the Guildhall conservatoire and working with executives from many industries: Banking, Legal and Regulatory, Healthcare and Cancer Research, Cosmetics, Renewable Energy, Railway, Hospitality,..

For Business English, you get my experience of working in five languages in management while implementing the strategy of an international train production company. The lesson will start by you presenting for me or running through a meeting in English. I can provide examples but I encourage students to bring their work so that they can get extra “free” practice at work. We will then learn skills in voice and body language to improve your confidence in being seen and heard in English in front of people.

We will study speeches of great speakers such as Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Michelle Obama, Tony Robbins and others so that you can understand and learn to identify what they are doing which makes them so great at how they are presenting.

With this structure I will help you to develop your OWN confident style so that you come across as human in a new accent and communicating at work.

If my experience sounds interesting and you like my video then please book a lesson with me and see if it works for you. It is my pleasure to help anyone who wants to make a change.

P.S.

If you speak French, Spanish, Italian or Swedish, I have learnt to speak these languages fluently and understand the differences between these accents very well. I understand how you feel being an accent student too. Other than these nationalities, I have coached the British English accent to language natives such as Mandarin Chinese and Russia and done accent softening for native English speakers people from India and England.

Here are just a few words from some of my students:

“Emma is not your typical tutor, she is more like an accommodating friend that is fanatical (in a good way:) about the language and pronunciation. I look forward to every lesson and wish I could do more of them.” Andrew L.

“Emma’s main strengths? Spotting speech patterns and recurring mistakes to give me practical, immediately applicable advice which led to a massive improvement in my day-to-day language.” Yann B.
