Amanda

Amanda is a 27 year old PhD student in Cancer Research with over 3 years experience in tutoring GCSE maths and biology. She has received feedback that she has an enthusiastic and energetic approach to tutoring, and believes that helping a student enjoy the subject is the first step in attaining good grades. Amanda puts a large emphasis on past papers and practise questions as the importance of good exam technique at GCSE level cannot be overestimated.

Amanda was awarded a First in my undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at Bristol University, and went on to complete an MSc in Economics and Finance. After two years on a graduate scheme in finance, Amanda returned to research, completing an MRes (distinction) in cancer biology at Imperial College London before beginning a PhD.

Availability: I offer flexible evening (after 5.00pm) tutoring

Experience: Amanda has tutored biology and maths in preparation for GCSEs for three years. All of her past students have seen marked improvements in their grades, and all have enjoyed their tutoring sessions together.
