I have recently graduated with a Geophysics degree from the University of Southampton and I am passionate about my subject and about science and mathematics in a broader context. Outside of my subject I enjoy reading classic science fiction, baking, and gardening though with the last two I find that injecting a little scientific method into the process goes a long way!
As an avid learner I love to show others the wonder I find in the world and I am a firm believer that from the right angle everything can be interesting. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm with students of all abilities and find students that need extra stretching in subjects that appeal to them just as rewarding as those who need a boost to help them achieve their goals. I love to see students grow in a subject and become excited about it and I am willing to do whatever it takes to help them find that feeling.

Experience: I have previously worked in schools as a teaching assistant but also helped to run classes for gifted children of all ages to develop IT skills.
At university I was heavily involved in a mentor system where older students spent time helping newer students with laboratory work and their understanding of the principles involved. I received a lot of great feedback from the students I worked with as well as the lab staff and as one of the more devoted mentors I often found myself helping out students not technically assigned to me.
