Information about Ciaran

I`m a highly dedicated, calm and methodical tutor. My day job is as an airline pilot which requires a high level of intelligence as well as spatial awareness and empathy. I have a passion for learning and teaching, and my varied background includes a working knowledge of advanced Maths, Physics, Aerodynamics, Engineering, French and Spanish. I pride myself on working to understand the needs of an individual and ensuring I always explain concepts in a way that will be understood, even if it means taking extra time to do so. Now more than ever, it`s important that students continue to learn while being engaged and feeling relaxed, and the sessions I deliver aim to achieve the balance of being useful yet stress-free.

Availability: During the current period I am free at almost any time, owing to low demand at work. In a normal working week I tend to work shift patterns which can range from early mornings finishing at 2pm to late nights stating at midday. I do work weekends but my variable pattern means that whether you prefer Saturday mornings, weekday evenings, lunchtimes, or any other specific request, I can make myself available on a weekly basis.

If you`re happy with arranging lessons on a week-by-week basis, then I`m more than happy to offer you my services. If that wouldn`t work for you then I can look into the prospect of a weekly block time.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have many years` worth of informal tutoring experience, having started at age 17 delivering courses on public speaking, engagement and activism to other young people in my area. At university I began tutoring Maths and Physics to local GCSE and A-Level students, and I`ve since added French to that list. I now offer affordable, informal tutoring sessions in all three subjects up to and including A-Level, with an aim of delivering relatable, concise and understandable material, essentially making the lesson conversational and hopefully maximising absorption of difficult topics. I have a solid knowledge of the relevant specifications with AQA, but I can also work to other exam boards if required.
