Information about Margarita

¡Hola! My name is Margarita and I am from Spain. I am a passionate and qualified teacher of Spanish as a foreign language or, in Spanish “soy profesora ELE :) ”. If I have to highlight something about myself is that I strongly believe in my student’s potential and talent, which together with my ten years of experience, the right teacher training qualification and my interpersonal skills has been helping me to unlock each individual talent and direct it, through fun but professional language practises, to a positive and efficient learning experience.

I have the ability to motivate and inspire my students by making lessons interesting and fun. I create a relaxed atmosphere where students are encouraged to express themselves and develop their communicative skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in a short period of time. Students not only learn the second language but they also learn strategies for understanding and progress.

Experience: I am currently teaching the extracurricular Spanish courses run by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Royal Holloway University of London which is a part time job I can combine with my private tuitions online either one to one, or groups lessons. I have recently (February 2020) become an examiner of the Diploma of Spanish as a foreign language. I have been a member of ELE UK Association for the Teaching of Spanish in Higher and Adult Education since 2015.

I have ten years of experience in teaching Spanish at all levels privately (either one to one and groups lessons online and face to face), and to groups in person at different colleges in UK among them are Lambeth College, RACC (Richmond and Adult Community College), MAE (Merton Adult Education) College, Royal Holloway University of London.

I have been judged as a grade 1/outstanding tutor by MAE College and also by RACC as a result of the Observation of Teaching and Learning by the Modern Foreign Languages departments. I have been nominated as an excellent tutor by many of my students at the celebration of achievements event at the colleges.

I studied a five years degree in Spain which gave me a theoretical understanding in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature and Linguistics. When I moved to London, in 2010, I completed a Spanish Language Teaching to Adults Programme (CLTA) which is a globally recognised teaching qualification where I developed the skills for the language classroom by learning the most respected and up-to-date teaching techniques and tools for effective teaching.
