I am an English student at the University of Cambridge, having attained grades of A*, A, A in my A-Levels earlier this year. I am very familiar with the requirements of all of these examinations, and am eager to put my experience to good use.
Throughout my studies, I have consistently been an A-A* standard student, obtaining the new top grade 9 in both English Language and Literature in the first year of the new GCSEs, and attaining an A* in my extra-curricular English-related Extended Project Qualification last year. I also attained a distinction in the speaking component of my English GCSE.
I am incredibly enthusiastic about my subject, and deeply passionate about helping others to access it. I have a tutoring experience in English (in both language and literature) across a wide variety of age-groups and abilities.
Availability: I am available in the Cambridge area until the 6th of December, and then around Hertford until the 12th of January.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: - In the 2017-2018 academic year, I tutored a Year 11 girl in English Language and English Literature GCSE and helped her go up a grade in the latter.
- I was also responsible for running tailored tutoring/revision group sessions for high-level English students, for which I wrote the lesson plan, constructed the materials and delivered the session.
- I was part of a reading scheme for struggling students in Year 7, wherein I assisted them with the selection of reading material and helped them gain confidence with comprehension.
- I have similar experience with primary school aged children, whom I assisted with their reading and spelling among other literacy tasks in a classroom environment.
