I have a First Class BA (English Literature) from Durham University. During my time at the department, which was this year ranked top in the country, I explored subjects including Old English, Shakespeare, Victorian fiction and American poetry, and completed a First Class dissertation in contemporary nature writing.
I have taken a creative writing course with London`s Faber Academy, and have had my writing published in such places as The London Magazine, The Scholar and the Guardian online.
I believe that students of all ages and abilities should be encouraged to stretch themselves, to engage creatively with their subject, and to find ways to enjoy the learning experience. I hope to engender the same enthusiasm I feel for my subject in all those I teach.
