Hi, I am currently a Chemistry graduate at Oxford university, studying for a PhD in Chemistry. Prior to university, I had studied Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths for my A-levels, so I am quite the science enthusiast and would really love to share that my passion with others!

I can teach Chemistry and Maths (but sadly not Further Maths) for GCSE/A-level students as they are the main focus at university. Since I need to move back to Oxford for my final year at university, I am unable to do in-person tutoring for the long-term. Therefore, my tutoring sessions will all be situated online as I can provide continual support throughout the year alongside my Chemistry research at university. Having already experienced online teaching myself during the Covid-19 pandemic, I feel that I can make online tutoring effective.

Outside of studying, I love to play the piano and play badminton occasionally. Throughout my years in school and university, I have found that I thoroughly enjoy helping other students understand concepts they found challenging, and it was always intriguing how I needed to change my method of explanation for different types of students. From my experience teaching others (see below), I have learnt that patience is key as everyone learns at a different pace and I am more than willing to adapt my tutoring style to all types of students.

Experience: In secondary school, I took part in a “Maths Leaders” programme whereby I had to organise an entertaining Maths class for Year 7 students and helped them through some Maths problems. This was the first time I really had to cater for students of varying study habits. On top of this, in sixth form I was a Chemistry prefect. One of my responsibilities in this role was to provide support for struggling GCSE students; I was assigned to two students, which I tutored weekly over the course of a few months in the run-up to their exams. I now have over 5+ year of experience tutoring students online for GCSE and A-level exams in Maths and Chemistry.
