My name is James and i`m a computer network engineer, designer and tutor.

My passion for all things IT began 1987 when my dad bought me my first computer, a Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2. It was great, at the time, but it wasn`t long before a needed a `proper` one. This was the first time I was exposed to computers and it didn`t take me long to realise I needed to know how it works. I found pieces that could be removed and even something that shouldn`t!

At the time I couldn`t really explain what it all was, but I just found the mechanics of how it all worked together amazing.

Looking back, these were the seeds that inspired my career and ultimately, who I am today. For me, computer networks are the ultimate in knowing how things work because they underpin EVERYTHING we do on a daily basis - from simply checking the news on your phone to using the same device to then instantly speak to someone at the other side of the world.
