Information about Georgia
I graduated a year and a half ago with a first class Zoology masters degree having spent 4 years studying at University Exeter, Penryn campus, and I am currently working for a wildlife boat company in Falmouth. I love engaging with younger people and encouraging an enthusiasm for maths which is not everybodys favourite! I hope to make their studying more enjoyable and interesting.
Availability: Most weekdays and the odd weekend
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring maths GCSE at a range of grades for over a year now. In the past I have also been involved with various educational and outreach activities during university and whilst volunteering for The Wildlife Trust. I have previously helped peers at school as well as my brother who is currently studying for his A Levels. Having achieved straight As and A*s in all my GCSEs and A Levels, I believe I will be able to provide help and support for students of all abilities.
I am friendly and approachable and have a very patient nature. I request a brief discussion before tutoring to address the students current grades and any struggles or requests they have so I can come prepared to our first session. I am still very familiar with the process and pressure of exams and much of the curriculum so will be able to share revision strategies and exam techniques. I find that using past exam questions is a great way to become confident with a topic so part of my teaching involves going through and assisting with example questions. I am good at explaining things simply and clearly and can introduce different teaching approaches to help the tutee understand a particular concept they are having difficulty with.
